History

Vietnamese are descendants of nomadic Mongols from China and migrants from Indonesia. According to mythology the first governor of Vietnam was Hung Vuong who founded the country in 2879 BC China of rules the country, then known as Nam Vyet as the vassal state from 111 BC till the 15th century, an era of nationalist expansion when Cambodians were expelled from the southern areas which now are Vietnam.

Century later Portuguese became the first Europeans who reached this territory. France established the power at the beginning of the 19th century, and in 80 years it won three regions into which then the country - Kochin-China in the south was divided, Annam in the central region and Tonkin in the north.

France for the first time united Vietnam in 1887 when the only general governorship with the subsequent first physical communications between the North and the South - railway and motor transportation system was created. However, even at the beginning of World War II there were internal distinctions between three regions. In 1940 Japan took control of military bases in Vietnam, and the French administration remained there till 1945. The honored communistic leader Ho Chi Minh organized the movement for independence known as Vyetmin, with the purpose to use the condition of confusion covering the weakened French influence in the region. At the end of war followers Ho took Hanoi and declared it the republic which didn't hold on a lot of time and ended with arrival of the French troops in 1946.

Paris offered the uniform government within the French union under the leadership of the former emperor of annamit, Bao Dai. Kochin-China and Annam accepted the offer, and in 1949 Bao Dai was proclaimed by the emperor of all Vietnam. Huo and the movement of Vyetmin refused the help, and revolution in China gave them the help from the outside, necessary for war against the French and Vietnamese troops armed generally at the expense of the USA concerned by communistic development of cold war.
