Kiribati, consists of 4 groups of southwest Pacific islands: Gilbert's archipelago on the equator, Phoenix Islands in the east both the Line Islands in the east, and the island of Banaba. The majority of the islands of Kiribati - the low coral atolls surrounded with reeves.

History
