Kenya lies through the equator in central east Africa on the coast of the Indian Ocean. Kenya is twice more than Nevada. Kenya borders on Somalia in the east, Ethiopia in the north, Tanzania in the south, Uganda in the West and Sudan in the northwest. Paleontologists believe that people occupied Kenya about 2 million years ago. In 700 BC the Arab seafarers and Portuguese took Kenya under the control. More than 40 ethnic groups live in Kenya. The biggest ethnic group Kikaya migrated in area at the beginning of the 18th century.
The earth became the British protectorate in 1890, and then and the British colony in 1920 and East Africa received the name. In 1940 nationalist revolts began and in 1952 Mau Mau's movement made of fighters Kikaya rose against the government. Fight proceeded till 1956.
