Haiti occupies a third of the western part of the island of Haiti and shares it with Dominican Republic. Two third Haiti mountains, and other part of the country big valleys, extensive plateaus and small plains.

History

nvestigated by Columbus on December 6, 1492, Haiti is scorched the victim of the Spanish board. In 1697 became Haiti the French colony of Santo-Domingo which became the leading producer of a sugar cane in which production slaves were engaged. In 1791 there was a revolt of 480000 slaves fighting for independence. Napoleon Bonaparte suppressed the movement for independence, but finally in 1804 Jean-Jacques Dessalen gave to the country independence and called Haiti. It was the first-ever independent black republic.
