Georgia borders on the Black Sea in the West, Turkey and Armenia in the south, Azerbaijan in the east and Russia in the north. Georgia includes Abkhazia and South Ossetia, however since 2008 these countries aren't controlled by the Georgian government and are recognized as the independent states.Form of government
Georgia became the kingdom approximately in the 4th century BC and accepted Christianity in the 337th century to AD. During domination of the queen Tamara (1184–1213), the territory of Georgia included all Transcaucasia. Within the 13th century Tamerlan and Mongols killed all population. Since the 16th century Georgia became a fight scene between Persia and Turkey. In the 18th century Georgia entered Russia in exchange for protection against Turks and Persians.
In 1917 Azerbaijan and Armenia joined Georgia, and in 1918 Georgia declared the independence. In 1922 Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan were taken by the USSR and are united in the Soviet socialist republic. In 1936 Georgia became the certain Soviet republic. At the Soviet board the country became completely agrarian country.
