Cameroon - the country in the central Africa on the Gulf of Guinea adjoining on Nigeria and Chad, the Central African Republic, the republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.

Cameroon is almost twice more than the State of Oregon. The mountain Cameroon, the highest eminence in the country (13,350 foots; 4,069 m). The main river - Benue.

Form of government

After plebiscite in 1972 to replace the former federal republic, the unitary republic from East and the Western Cameroon was created.

History

The speakers to a bow accompanied with the Muslim Fuleni in the 18th and 19th centuries were among the first groups which lodged in Cameroon. The earth avoided colonial domination to 1884, didn't get under German domination yet. After World War I the League of the Nations gave 80% of the territory of Cameroon to French and 20% of the territory to British. After World War II in 1946 the country got under guardianship of the UN and received self-government. The national Union appeared as ruling party, carrying out campaign for reunion of the French and British Cameroon and for independence.
